Charges are pending against a man in a hit-and-run crash in the Austin neighborhood that killed Jennie Davis, 64, according to police. Davis was struck by a vehicle in the 5500-block of North Avenue on the city's West Side at 9:40 p.m. Sunday. She was pronounced dead at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. "He hit one parked car then he hit another car the lady was crossing the street in the intersection he hit her she flew up in the air and came down he sped off in his car," a witness, said. Police say the driver fled the scene. The vehicle was recovered in the 1500-block of North Laramie, officials said. Davis was walking across the street to the corner store. "She was nice. She didn't deserve this. Whoever did this, you need to turn yourself in. Do the right thing," a neighbor, said.
