About 1:43 p.m., Michael J. Nardo backed out of his driveway near Foxglove Lane and Crystal Creek Drive when his vehicle drove off the road.

Nardo’s vehicle “struck several fixed objects and then came to rest in a ravine,” according to a statement released by Will County Coroner Patrick O’Neil’s office.
Michael J. Nardo backed out of driveway when his vehicle went off the road, striking a lampost and a tree. The vehicle then went into drive, continuing south on Foxglove Lane, across Crystal Creek Drive and through a field before coming to rest in a steep creek bed. There was no one else in the vehicle at the time. Nardo was pronounced dead at the scene.
