Jean Nelson, 81, killed in three-vehicle collision at Dee and Talcott roads in Park Ridge, Illinois

An elderly woman is dead after a three-car crash in the northwest suburbs.Park Ridge police are investigating the Thursday morning crash at the intersection of Dee and Talcott roads in Park Ridge.Police say a vehicle driven by an 81-year-old Des Plaines woman was traveling south on Dee Road at Talcott, attempting to turn left to southeast-bound Talcott on the green traffic signal. A northbound vehicle, driven by a 43-year-old Chicago woman, struck the 81-year-old's vehicle while drive through the intersection on the green light. The Chicago woman's vehicle struck a third vehicle driven by a Skokie woman, which was waiting at the red light.The elderly woman's vehicle came to rest on the northeast corner of the intersection. That driver then complained of chest pains and lost consciousness at the scene. She as pronounced dead at Lutheran General Hospital.No other injuries were reported.
