Alexis Richardson, 9, killed; 53-year-old man seriously injured in ATV crash in Plainfield, Illinois
GIRL, 9, KILLED IN PLAINFIELD ATV CRASH IDENTIFIED
Police said around 6:55 p.m. Tuesday, officers saw an ATV that had gone off the road and into the grass in the area of Ridge Road between 135th Street and Plainfield Road.
They found Richardson and a 53-year-old man had been "severely injured." The man was breathing - Richardson was not. Officers called for paramedics and performed CPR while they waited for help to arrive.
The girl was airlifted to Loyola, where she was pronounced at 11:49 p.m. The man was transported to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora. Police have not disclosed the relationship between the two victims.
