Authorities believe it was a private aircraft. The investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration is still ongoing.

The two victims of a plane crash near Monmouth Airport have been identified. Robert V. Burkhart, 65, of Peoria and Roger D. Lundeen, 72, of Galesburg, died June 25.
