West Frankfort, IL man fatally injured in motorcycle crash
He was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to a St. Louis area hospital before succumbing to his injuries.
According to Illinois State Police, 36-year-old Mark Holtz of West Frankfort was riding his motorcycle on Orient Road just south of Carr Road in Franklin County when he failed to make the curve near the intersection with Carr Road and drove into a ditch. Holtz was was thrown from the motorcycle. He later died at a hospital.
