Ronald H. Parker, 58, of Dawson Springs, Kentucky, was killed in a crash involving three vehicles Wednesday in Johnson County.
A 2005 Ford Econoline van driven by Amy J. Sturms, 31, was halted for an authorized flag person at about 11:05 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. 45, about half a mile north of South Walnut Grove Road. A 2003 Freightliner driven by Christopher F. Jones, 47, was stopped behind her. Another 2003 Freightliner driven by Parker came up behind Jones and failed to stop in time, smashing into the back of Jones' vehicle, which then hit the Ford in the rear. Parker was pronounced dead. Jones and Sturms were hospitalized with injuries. Amy Duncan, 31, a passenger in the Ford, also suffered injuries.
