Anderson Community Schools Student Services Director Amanda McCammon said the students from the bus were taken back to the school by foot and transported from there in another vehicle. She said parents were notified of the accident.
According to James Harter, 64, who was driving the school bus, some students were acting up so he turned around to check on them and rear-ended a slowing police car. Only the dective in the car and one 14-year-old student were injured in the crash.
