Woman, 21, killed in crash

Police have released the name of a woman who died in a crash in Fishers early Sunday morning.

The crash happened shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 69 near the 204 mile marker.

Fishers Police officers arrived and found the crash involved a 2009 Ford Fusion.

The female driver, identified as 21-year-old Hannah E. Fernung, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A male passenger was taken to IU Health Methodist in critical condition.

Witnesses say the Ford was northbound on I-69 when it appears the driver lost control and left the roadway. The vehicle flipped and hit a tree.

The crash remains under investigation. Police say officers collected evidence and will reconstruct the crash.
