Man struck and seriously injured by hit-and-run driver in Indianapolis, Indiana

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police are investigating an apparent hit-and-run accident early Tuesday morning. Police and medics were called to the 5700 block of Massachusetts Avenue at 3:45 a.m. on a report of an injured male lying beside the roadway. No vehicle was at the scene, but investigators say because of the type of injuries the man had, they believe he was the victim of a hit and run. The victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Investigators collected evidence at the scene.
