Troopers set the truck did not slow down when all of the other traffic was slowing because of a car fire on the side of the interstate in the eastbound lanes.

Watts says the accident occurred as traffic slowed in the eastbound lanes because of an active fire. Watts says the tractor-trailer failed to slow before rear-ending the car.

West Michigan man among 4 killed in crash on I-70 in Indiana

Police said that traffic on 1-70 had slowed before the crash while firefighters worked to put out a brake fire on a semi-truck on the eastbound shoulder. Police said Kolkman failed to slow for the traffic and crashed into the Toyota, pushing it forward into another semi-truck.
