Authorities: 2 killed in small plane crash in eastern Iowa

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says the two were the only passengers aboard the single-engine plane that crashed Friday afternoon shortly after taking off from a private airfield in Oxford, about 15 miles (24.14 kilometers) northwest of Iowa City.

Authorities ID 2 people killed in Iowa plane crash

Authorities say 70-year-old Terry Koehn, of rural Iowa City, and 56-year-old James Spicer, of Cedar Rapids, were killed in the crash.

Funerals set for men killed in Johnson County plane crash

A funeral service for Spicer will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ludmila Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. The funeral for Koehn will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Coralville. 

Initial report released on fatal Oxford plane crash

A witness heard a plane engine backfiring and saw the craft enter into a downward spiral before it crashed in rural Johnson County, killing Terry Koehn and James Spicer.
