Arrest Made in Connection with Fatal Hit-and-Run

Emergency crews responded to the 300 block of University Avenue at about 2 a.m. Saturday to a report of a hit-and-run. Officers found Warner Robinson, 21, lying in the street. Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Victim's family has this message for driver in fatal hit-and-run

Robinson’s mother, Heather Berg, said she just wants whoever struck and killed her son to come forward. “I can’t imagine what you're having to deal with, but understand that we are to forgive,” Berg said.

Police said the body of 21-year-old Warner Douglas Robinson was found in the west bound lanes of the 300 block of University Avenue around 2 a.m. Saturday.

Warner Robinson was found dead face-down after being struck by a vehicle on University Avenue. A surveillance video helped to track down the vehicle, a newer model Dodge Avenger, and its driver, 27-year-old Jayron Woods-Crawford, who is currently being held at Polk County Jail.
