4 Dead Following Plane Crash

Investigators believe the plane went down Friday evening. An extensive hours long search by ground and air yielded no results until daybreak on Saturday.

Airport manager Tom Mullally confirmed Saturday there were three men and a 16-year-old girl on board the plane.

The 1979 Piper single-engine plane was headed to Osceola, south of Des Moines, when the Des Moines Air Traffic Control requested an emergency landing for it at the Guthrie Center airport, the sheriff’s office said. It said a student pilot was going to attempt an emergency landing, but it didn’t specify whether that was Kellen, Clark or Douvia.

Carbon monoxide found in 4 people killed in plane crash

Preliminary autopsy results show four people who died in a small plane crash in central Iowa earlier this month were suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning.
