Four teenagers from central Iowa died when their vehicle collided with a utility pole and caught fire, authorities said.

Four people died in fiery car crash in Marshalltown

Officers with the Marshalltown Police Department responded to a report of a car vs. pole crash around 11:12 p.m. in the 1800 block of South 6th Street. When first responders arrived, they found a car that had struck a utility pole and was on fire.

Four children dead following a car crash in Marshalltown

All four people in the car were minors. The victims were Adrian Lara, 13, Isacc Lara, 16, Linette Lopez, 15, and Yanitza Lopez, 17.

Four Marshalltown teens killed after crashing into utility pole

All four victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The Iowa Office State Medical Examiner is taking care of autopsy results for the victims.

Quadruple fatal crash in Marshaltown

The Iowa State Patrol reports the accident happened at around 11:20-p.m. as the car was traveling south on 6th Street near Edgeland Drive. A candlelight vigil was scheduled to take place this (Saturday) evening at a church in Marshalltown.
