Toddler injured in Thursday wreck dies

State police said a 2006 Chevrolet driven by Jeffery Smith, 26, of Bowling Green, was traveling north on the parkway near mile marker 21 at about 5:10 p.m. when the car went off the left shoulder. Smith apparently overcorrected and lost control, and the vehicle flipped several times before stopping on the right shoulder. A 23-month-old boy, Elijah Smith, was flown from the scene to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where he died Friday.
