The Boyd County Sheriff’s Office said a car driving through a work zone stopped very quickly, causing a chain reaction. The car behind that stopping vehicle, in an attempt to avoid a rear-end collision, hit their brakes quickly and ended up running off the edge of the road -- hitting one of the workers.
