The man killed in a road rage incident on Southern Parkway Tuesday afternoon has been identified as 29-year-old Justin D. Beeler.

“From what we've seen Justin's being portrayed as an aggressor, but how can he be an aggressor if he gets in his car and drives away, and then 40 seconds later this guy comes and follows him," Brandon asked.

Nevins told police that he and Beeler were going nearly 100 miles per hour in both directions on Southern Parkway when Beeler started firing a semi-automatic pistol at the Chrysler 300 being driven by Nevins. The car was struck struck several times by gunfire.

According to police interviews released Tuesday, Nevins told a police officer that he works for the Department of Defense and talked about hearing voices.
Justin Beeler was believed to be chasing a man driving a Chrysler riddled with bullet holes when his vehicle struck a tree. Beeler died in the accident. The other driver was identified as Michael D. Nevins, 43.
