Icy roads were a factor in a collision that resulted in the death of a Kentucky woman Wednesday on Kentucky 150 in Springfield. Rhonda Yates, 51, of Danville, died in the crash when her Mitsubishi was struck by a Chevrolet that crossed the center line. Yates was transported to Springview Medical where she later died. Authorities say she wasn't wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the other vehicle, Hoyt Calhoun, 50, of Boston, and his passenger, Lori Meier, 44, of Elizabethtown, were transported to Springview Hospital.
After an injury car accident, take these steps to help the recovery process
When someone has been injured in a car crash, it's hard to know what to do to help. Injured people need appropriate medical treatment, but they also need to have their civil and legal rights protected.
After a serious crash, several steps need to be taken, including informing the insurance companies, tracking and documenting lost income from missed work, and coordinating medical bill payments. These are difficult tasks to manage when someone is dealing with severe injuries.
