Kentucky State Police are investigating a car crash that killed one and seriously injured another.
Shawnna Murray of Marion was driving a white pickup on KY453 in Livingston County just before 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday when the truck left the road, struck a culvert, became airborne, and hit a tree before finally coming to a stop off the road. Murray, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, Heath Coursey of Salem, was airlifted to a hospital in Evansville, Indiana, where he was last reported in serious condition. Both a preliminary investigation and witnesses indicate that the pickup was driving at a high rate of speed and passed another vehicle on a curve before it crashed, and alcohol may have been a factor.
