Harris was a convicted felon who had served time for armed robbery, possession and distribution of drugs along with other charges.

A driver was killed after he crashed into a cane field around 9 a.m. Wednesday as he was trying to pass a vehicle at high speeds along Rosedale Road near Poydras Bayou Drive in West Baton Rouge Parish. A woman in the car told first responders that she had been kidnapped by the man on Tuesday night in East Baton Rouge Parish. The woman was airlifted to a hospital.
