Shortly after 6 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop I responded to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian north of Mamou on La. 13 in Evangeline Parish.
Joseph Deshotel was driving southbound on La. 13 approaching Johnson Street when his vehicle struck Terry Trumps in the southbound lane. Trumps was pronounced dead at the scene by the Evangeline Parish Coroner’s Office. Deshotel was uninjured. The crash is still under investigation.
