A Jonesville man died early Sunday on Interstate 10 in St. James Parish when he was struck by a pickup truck as he stood in the median after the car he was riding in had crashed. The crash occurred when Andre Collins, 26, of Baton Rouge, was driving a Chrysler 200 west on I-10 when he crashed into the back of a sport utility vehicle driven by Jamie Resendiz, 23, of Richland, Mississippi. Collins’ passenger, Charles Branch Jr., 31, got out and walked onto the median. A third driver, Adam Fabre, 23, of LaPlace, was driving west in a Dodge pickup and swerved into the median in an attempt to avoid the disabled Chrysler, crashing into Branch, who sustained fatal injuries. A fourth car, a Ford Focus driven by Lester Ross Jr., 20, of Baton Rouge, hit the disabled Chrysler. Collins was transported to St. James Parish Hospital with minor injuries.
