Motorcyclist struck on Broad Street by hit-and-run driver, witnesses say

"He paused and looked right at the lady," said a witness who asked that her name be withheld. "He looked at her, then he kept right on going. I'm late for court right now, but I stopped to call and get her help. I don't know her, but there's right and there's wrong."

The incident occurred around 8:15 a.m. at the intersection of South Broad and Elba streets. A man driving a silver or gray four-door Pontiac Grand Prix hit the motorcycle, stopped to look at the fallen woman in the roadway, then completed his left turn and sped off northbound down Broad Street. Authorities request that anyone with information on the hit-and-run driver or vehicle to call NOPD or Crimestoppers at 504.822.1111.
