New Orleans Police: 3 pedestrians killed in tow truck crash

WWL-TV (http://bit.ly/2dA6pgE ) reports the wreck happened Sunday just before 5 p.m. at a Mid-City intersection.

Authorities say a tow truck was traveling southbound when it left the roadway and hit four pedestrians. Police say the tow truck then drove through a fence into the parking lot of a shopping center, where it hit several parked vehicles.

Meanwhile, court and business records are raising questions about the towing company's officers, whose names were removed from the official corporate records just hours after the crash.

The comments came just hours after the Orleans Parish Coroner's Officeconfirmed that Mark Robinson, 52, and Tina Bland, 50, died of blunt injuries sustained during the crash. A third victim who perished has yet to be identified, pending family notification.

Pedestrian injured in Mid-City tow crash sues tow company and driver

Filed on Oct. 13 in Orleans Parish court, McQueen's suit is seeking damages from the tow company, All Night Towing and Recovery, LLC, and the truck's driver, Thurman Jones. McQueen is represented by attorney Edward Womac.
