88-year-old man killed in Terrytown traffic accident

An 88-year-old man died in a traffic accident in Terrytown Saturday (Aug. 29), according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office. When he pulled onto Terrytown Parkway, his car was hit by a 2011 Hyundai Genesis driven by a 21-year-old man from Baton Rouge. Police arrived at the scene around 11:21 a.m. at which point the victim was taken to Oschner Medical Center's West Bank campus where he was pronounced dead. The victim was driving a 2003 Buick Lesabre east on Guardian Avenue. The driver of the Hyundai complained of back injuries.

Jefferson Parish coroner's office identifies man killed in Terrytown crash

The Jefferson Parish coroner's office has identified the 88-year-old man who died following a crash in Terrytown Saturday morning (Aug. 29) as Ernest Massey. A 21-year-old Baton Rouge man driving a 2011 Hyundai Genesis hit Massey's vehicle. Massey, of Terrytown, died of injuries he received in the wreck, which occurred about 11:21 a.m. at the intersection of Terry Parkway and Guardian Avenue, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said. Authorities also took the Baton Rouge driver to the same hospital for treatment of back injuries. Massey was driving eastbound on Guardian in a 2003 Buick Lesabre when he pulled out onto Terry Parkway, authorities said.
