Victim identified in fatal Shreveport motorcycle crash
Shreveport police have identified a Mississippi man who lost his life following a motorcycle crash last Friday afternoon in south Shreveport.
Just after 3:30 p.m. on Friday, members of the Shreveport Police Department’s patrol division responded to a multiple vehicle crash occurring near the intersection of Flournoy-Lucas Road near the entrance to the Twelve Oaks subdivision. Upon officer’s arrival at the scene, it was learned 49-year-old Edwin J. Bergeron of Vicksburg Mississippi, died following a collision between his 2002 Honda motorcycle and a 2010 Scion TC.
Preliminary information suggested Bergeron was traveling east bound on Flournoy-Lucas Road, at which time the 16-year-old driver of the Scion, reportedly pulled out of the Twelve Oaks Subdivision into the path of the motorcycle.
Following the initial collision, Bergeron was thrown from the motorcycle striking a 2011 Lexus SUV driven by 36-year-old Summer Smith of Shreveport. Charges against the driver of the Scion are pending the outcome of the investigation which remains underway by Shreveport Police Crash Investigators.
