Shreveport biker died saving fiancee from oncoming car
Newhart and his fiancee Kimberly West were riding together when police say John lost control of his motorcycle, causing West to fall off.
Witnesses told police Newhart and ran out to get her, then an oncoming car hit them, but not before his friends say John did one last thing to save her life.
"He tossed her out of the way, and he got hit point blank," said Pyro.
Since motorcycle crashes often end in serious injuries, victims need immediate help
Motorcycle accidents are more likely to end in serious injuries or death for the motorcyclist, since the rider is not protected from the force of a collision. When a motorcycle accident happens, the injured rider needs immediate, appropriate medical care, the accident needs to be investigated, and the insurance companies need to be informed.
When a motorcycle crash is caused by negligence, additional steps need to be taken to protect the legal rights of the injured motorcyclist or the family members of someone killed in a motorcycle crash. Go here to learn more about motorcycle accidents and claims.
