A 22-year-old Winslow man died early Friday morning when the car he was driving crashed into a utility pole on Maple Ridge Road, police said.

Jordan Maroon from Winslow was found dead at the scene. The accident happened at about 4:30 a.m. Friday in the town of China.
Police said Maroon entered a left-hand curve and began to skid. He left the road on the right-hand side, striking the pole directly on the driver’s door.
Police said the initial investigation shows speed and slippery road conditions are factors in the crash.
