Person Fatally Struck on I-270 After Exiting Car After Crash, Officials Believe
Police believe that the victim, 57-year-old Lloyd Gardiner of Silver Spring, Maryland, was the driver of a vehicle that was involved in a crash. Gardiner got out of his vehicle and then was hit by another vehicle that hadn't been involved in the initial collision, police said.
Fatal Pedestrian Accident On I-270 Under Investigation
The impact pushed the vehicle forward, striking Gardiner. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene.
