A Prince George's County family is heartbroken after the parents of three young children died in a car crash in Temple Hills Sunday afternoon. Delonte Antwuan Tobe, 34, and Shalaya Moore-Tobe, 31, were heading to the store to buy groceries for a Labor Day barbecue when their Lexus was struck at about 2 p.m. Police say it appears the driver of an SUV crossed the center line on Kirby Road in order to pass two cars before it struck the victims' car. It'€™s confusing, and words cannot begin to explain how I feel.'€ The couple leaves behind three children. Tobe and Moore-Tobe, who were married for four years, died at a local hospital. '€œI feel like someone has stolen all my joy from me," said Virginia Moore, Shalaya Moore-Tobe'€™s mother. '€œIt'€™s sad.

The preliminary investigation reveals the two deceased victims had just turned right onto Kirby Road from Tinkers Creek Drive when they were struck by the second vehicle. That vehicle had been traveling westbound on Kirby Road. Preliminarily, it appears that the second vehicle had crossed the center line on Kirby Road in order to pass two cars which had slowed down to let the victim’s car turn onto Kirby Road. When the second involved vehicle moved backed into the westbound lane, it struck the victim’s car.
