A man died early Tuesday in a car crash in Upper Marlboro. While speed was a factor, according to the police’s preliminary investigation, it is still unclear if the weather or road conditions had anything to do with the accident, Prince George’s County police said.

The accident occurred around 4:15 a.m. The man, driving a Chrysler, was traveling north on Tam O Shanter Drive toward Fairhaven Avenue said, a spokeswoman for the county police department. “For reasons we’re looking into, his car left the roadway, hit a curb and struck a tree,” police said. There were no other passengers or cars involved in the accident.
