A man was taken taken to the hospital this afternoon after crashing into a light pole in Dorchester, officials said.

A man was taken taken to the hospital this afternoon after crashing into a light pole in Dorchester, officials said.
Emergency workers responded to a single-vehicle crash at 45 Morrissey Blvd. around 1:30 p.m today.
“We were able to extricate and begin treating him before EMS got there,” said Boston Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald.
The crash victim was transported to Boston Medical Center. No information was immediately available on his condition.
