Elizabeth Fairbanks killed after her car strikes utility pole.

Police say a Dennis woman has died after her car struck a utility pole in Brewster.

Police say the SUV driven by Elizabeth Fairbanks struck a pole at about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday.

She was taken to Cape Cod Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police stated that it does not appear is if Fairbanks was wearing a seat belt.

The victim was the only person in the SUV, but two dogs were also in the vehicle. They were taken to a veterinarian with minor injuries.

The cause remains under investigation.
