Ipswich Police officers responded to Topsfield Road near Turner Hill and found a 58-year-old man, a 60-year-old woman and their 19-year-old son who had been struck by a Kia Soul. The three victims are from Ipswich.

Norris and his 19-year-old son were airlifted to Mass General Hospital, where the younger man remains hospitalized. Norris’s 60-year-old wife was taken to Beverly Hospital.

Ryane Linehan, 43, of Ispwich was cited for motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, marked lanes violation, and composing, sending or reading an electronic message.

In court, 44-year-old Linehan denied that she was texting at the time of the accident, according to The Daily News of Newburyport. She said in court that she suffered a medical condition that led her to take her eyes off the road.
