High school senior ID'd as teen hit, killed in Milton
State police said that according to the preliminary investigation, Etienne was crossing Aberdeen Road near Brush Hill Road around 3:30 when a Jeep Wrangler traveling in the left lane hit her.
The Jeep swerved into the median while trying to avoid the pedestrian, state police said. The driver, a 44-year-old Hyde Park man, remained at the scene.
Driver in fatal Milton crash was an off-duty officer
The officer was identified as Sergeant Warren Hoppie, a 20-year veteran of the department who works in in West Roxbury, by Boston police spokesman Lieutenant Michael McCarthy.

"Sergeant Hoppie is twenty year veteran of the Boston Police Department currently assigned to Area E-5 in West Roxbury. He is deeply saddened about the tragic accident and is cooperating fully with the ongoing State Police investigation," a statement from the Boston Police Department said.
