A 14-year-old girl is expected to survive after being run over and pinned by a car in Waltham on Thursday. Police say an 18-year-old woman driver was pulling out of a parking lot of the Waltham Raquet Ball Club shortly after 3 p.m. when her car struck the 14-year-old girl along with an 18-year-old man. The 14-year-old victim, who has only been identified as a student at Waltham High School, was dragged and pinned under the car. An arriving police officer was able to grab a floor jack from Boston Muffler, Brake & Automotive, which is nearby. Two officers, along with a firefighter who witnessed the crash managed to get the car jacked up and were able to free the teenager. She was rushed to Mass General Hospital with serious injuries. The 18-year-old man who was struck suffered minor injuries. Police say solar glare was believed to be an issue.
