One person hospitalized after car crash in Southwick.

One person was taken to the hospital after a car crashed into a utility pole on Granville Road (Route 57) early Friday morning, police said.

One person was taken to the hospital after a car crashed into a utility pole on Granville Road (Route 57) early Friday morning, police said.

Officers were called to the crash in the area of 235 Granville Road five minutes after midnight, according to a Southwick Police Department Dispatcher.

Police said one person was taken to Baystate Medical Center, but is expected to recover.

The road was closed as repairs were made to the utility pole but re-opened within an hour. Western Massachusetts Electric Company worked on the wires that were knocked down.

Police are still trying to determine what caused the crash.
