Police try to determine why man who caused crash drove wrong way on U.S. 23

Tim Thurman, a witness to the incident, said he was driving northbound when he saw the wrong-way driver.

"The driver didn't seem to be concerned at all -- there were no brake lights," Thurman said.

It was just before 6:00pm when a 42-year-old man was reported driving erractically, and as police tried to stop him he drove up an exit ramp onto southbound U.S.23, though he was going north. Soon he collided with oncoming traffic, including a head-on collision with a semi-truck that caused it to rollover, a Chevrolet sedan. and an SUV. The wrong-way driver was the most seriously injured and remains in serious condition, while the 28-year-old female driver of the sedan and the 69-year-old female driver SUV sustained minor injuries, and the driver of the semi-truck was not injured. Investigators are still trying to determine why the man was driving the wrong way.
