Two people were killed in a single-car crash on Interstate 94 near Pelham Road in Allen Park early this morning, Michigan State Police said.

The driver of the vehicle, a 2002 Nissan, lost control around 3:50 a.m., leaving the left side of the freeway’s westbound lanes, hitting the guardrail. The driver and a passenger in the front of the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Another passenger, in the back of the vehicle, was taken to Oakwood Hospital for treatment. It is not known whether alcohol played a role in the crash. Police said roads were clear and dry at the time of the accident. Additiional information was not released pending next-of-kin notification.
