Man dies in motorcycle crash on Groesbeck
Police said around 2:31 a.m. Steven Watkins, of Macomb Township, was traveling northbound on Groesbeck Highway in the right curb lane. Watkins reportedly left the roadway and traveled on the grassy area to the right of the shoulder and lost control.
At aaround 2:30 a.m. Thursday on Groesbeck Road near North Avenue, just south of M-59 in Clinton Township, a motorcyclist was northbound in the right lane when he left the roadway and crashed into a ditch. The man, identified only as a 22-year-old Macomb man, was taken to the hospital where he later died. His name was not released. No other injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation. Groesbeck Road was closed for several hours while police investigated but has since reopened.
