Authorities: Icy roads to blame for fatal Michigan crash

Authorities say icy roads are to blame for a three-vehicle crash in Tuscola County that killed a motorist.

Michigan State Police investigate fatal traffic crash

Preliminary investigation by the Michigan State Police Caro Post shows that around 3:03 p.m., a Nissan Pathfinder, while southbound on M-24, struck a northbound Dodge Dakota. The southbound vehicle then struck a third vehicle before coming to rest in the roadway.

Three vehicles collided after one span out on the icy road, striking two other vehicles. Tammy L. Shonk was killed in the crash and one other driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and was hospitalized. The accident occured in Tuscola County's Indianfields Township, south of Caro, about 80 miles north of Detroit.
