Woman dead after collision in Battle Creek - WWMT - News, Sports, Weather, Traffic(link is external)

Police said Jessica Lambert, 30, of Battle Creek, was driving east on Verona near McCallister when a second car, driven by a Battle Creek man, crossed the center line and struck her head-on. Lambert was pronounced dead on the scene and the driver of the other car was taken to Bronson Battle Creek with minor injuries. Police are still investigating the incident and criminal charges against the driver are pending.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Monday, a woman killed in a head-on crash in Calhoun County will be laid to rest. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 at Bachman Hebble Funeral Home on Bedford Road North in Battle Creek. Investigators say a week ago Sunday a car crossed the center line and hit Lambert's car on Verona Road just outside Battle Creek. The funeral for 30-year-old Jessica Lambert is Monday afternoon.

The case has been sent to the prosecutor's office.

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Police tell Newschannel 3 that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of a driver involved in a deadly head-on crash that claimed the life of Jessica Lambert, of Battle Creek. The crash happened in September, on Verona Road, in Emmett Township. Right now, police are not identifying the suspect, because he has not yet been arraigned. Police say back in September the 19-year-old was drunk when he crossed center line on Verona Road in Emmett Township and crashed head on into a car driven by Jessica Lambert.

His preliminary hearing has been postponed a number of times and was rescheduled for Wednesday.
