A man is dead after police say he was struck by a car in Branch County. It happened around 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Coldwater Police say a 75-year-old man was crossing East Chicago Street at Michigan Avenue when he was struck by vehicle driven by a 72-year-old female. Rescue workers performed CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pedestrian killed Friday identified
Friends identified the victim as Jack A. Combs, 75, who retired after 30 years of working at Kellogg in Battle Creek. Combs was a regular at the senior center's weekly live music dances.
