Bussey and his passenger, Brett William Sabby, 18, of Ludington, were seriously injured and flown to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Cole said. Sabby suffered life-threatening injuries, he said.
Bussey told deputies that he had been awake for more than 24 hours, Cole said.
