According to a news release, the 16-year-old was on his way home after getting out of work at the Subway located inside of the Shell Gas station when the crash happened.
Police identify teen killed crossing 54th Street
Authorities say Zachary Leighton Gray, 16, was leaving work at the Subway inside the Shell gas station nearby, when he attempted to cross 54th St. He was hit and run over by a full size extended cab pickup truck.
Police are investigating after a driver hit and killed a teenager Friday night. The accident occured just before 9:30 p.m. on 54th Street at Division Avenue. Police claim the victim didn’t use the crosswalk and crossed the road in front of a pick-up truck that was driving westbound on 54th Street. The victim was sent to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
