Snowmobiler struck by car, killed while crossing road

A snowmobiler has died after being struck by a car as he crossed a northern Michigan road.

Morgan said investigators are still trying to determine fault, but noted it was incumbent on the snowmobiler, not the car's driver, to stop at the intersection. 

Snowmobile crash victim ID'd

Authorities closed M-72 for more than three hours on March 6 after Timothy J. Krause, 72, of Beulah, crossed the road and collided with a Chevrolet Caprice.

A 72-year-old man was snowmobiling with two other people in Empire Township when they crossed a road and he was struck by a car. The driver and passenger were not injured. THe man was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released.
