Tuesday on Anoka County Road 22, which is called Viking Boulevard. She has some minor injuries but is recovering at the Hennepin County Medical Center. The two people who were killed in a head-on crash Tuesday near East Bethel have been identified. The Anoka County Sheriff's Office said 73-year-old Genie Ann Mohr of Columbus was driving a pickup that crossed the center line and crashed into a Lexus driven by 64-year-old Curtis Richmond Durand of Mound. Mohr is the great-grandmother of the 3-year-old girl who was rescued from the burning truck by a witness.

The man, from Grandy, Minn., went into the burning vehicle and pulled the child to safety -- saving the child's life. The Anoka County Sheriff's Office says by the time the child was pulled to safety, the rest of the truck was completely engulfed in flames.

Preliminary investigation of the accident revealed the 73-year-old woman was driving the pickup when she apparently drifted over the centerline into oncoming traffic, colliding with an SUV being driven by a 64-year-old man from Mound. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the child suffered minor injuries.
