A passenger vehicle struck the back of a construction truck with a trailer that had a flashing arrow directing traffic into another lane, state trooper Chase Elkins said. The car landed in the median.

Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Chase Elkins released Pena’s name Friday and gave details of the crash, which Elkins said also injured two passengers in Pena’s car.
