Don Self, a leader in the Mississippi peanut industry and a member of the National Peanut Board, was killed Wednesday (Oct. 1) in a harvesting accident.
Hamilton farmer Don Self, 55, died Wednesday after an accident north of Greenwood Springs. Self was on a location with his equipment transporting peanuts and was caught in between his truck and the trailer of his 18-wheeler. Firemen freed him and he was flown to the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, where he was pronounced deceased.
